Here’s everything you need to see for Last Idol‘s debut single titled Bandwagon.

Out since December 20th, the single was released in 5 editions: Type A, B, C, D, and Web.

Last Idol has an interesting concept. It’s an idol group made up of girls who competed together in an audition show for the chance to become one of the 7 finalists. These 7 finalists got to be in the lineup for Last Idol, while those who didn’t make the cut get to be in other sister groups.

The big question is: How good are the songs from Last Idol and their sister groups? Let’s find out.

Bandwagon
Last Idol

In the MV for Bandwagon we get to see Abe Nanami, Yoshizaki Aya, Ohishi Natsumi, Yasuda Airi, Nagatsuki Midori, Suzuki Haruka, and Koga Yako as they perform together in shots packed full of color and well produced visuals. It’s a solid debut MV and one that makes a great first impression of the group and what they’re capable of.

It’s not surprising to see that the visuals are so impressive since they are the winners and most likely got a higher budget. This helped pay for a projector, a floor covered in water with lasers, some mirrors, one desk with flowers, and a helipad to dance on. Fancy props that fit in perfectly with the AKB48-ish ballad that plays.

Namida no Kamen (Type A Exclusive)
Good Tears

Fans of rain are in for a treat since the MV from Good Tears features plenty of water and one of the catchiest songs for this single. The mature sound of the song combined surprisingly well with the scenes of the members as they sing in the dark rainy night. There is a slight Spanish touch to the instrumental, which makes it an even more interesting song to enjoy.

Souzoujou no Fruits (Type B Exclusive)
Chou Cream Rocket

If Namida no Kamen was a bit too sad for you then you’ll be glad to see that Souzoujou no Fruits has a light and poppy feel. In this MV we get to see the members of this adorably titled group surf channels on the TV, changing from a performance on stage to an adventure where they get lost in the forest. The story might not make sense but the fun sound of the song does.

Again & Again (Type C Exclusive)
Someday Somewhere

Following the concept that all school girls want to be idols, we get to Someday Somewhere practice together before they perform on stage for their school. Unfortunately, one of the members (Majima Wakana) suffers an injury while practicing and seems unable to perform. But, in a twist we get to see the others perform around her as she sits and sings.

It’s a slow song but one that fits perfectly with the shots of the school, making for a rather enjoyable release. The fact that they included seifukus is a nice touch since that is a must have for any idol group.

Shitsuren Kanpai (Type D Exclusive)
Love Cocchi

If you wanted to see a fancy MV with shots of not-PASSPO eating sweets then you will enjoy Shitsuren Kanpai. It’s on the slower side and the lyrics include a lot of “la la la” lines, but the fancy shots are well done and colorful. That cuteness that can only come from idols is pretty strong in this MV, making for a fun video to enjoy.

Hopefully with time we get to see them try out more unique songs since some had a fairly generic sound, although this single is certainly a step in the right direction. Make sure to grab your copy of this release below!
