LADYBABY have announced that they are back from the hiatus. Alongside the announcement comes the reveal that Ladybeard will no longer be part of the group.

Kaneko Rie and Kuromiya Rei will continue as a unit titled The Idol Formerly Known as LADYBABY.

While Ladybeard was arguably the essence of what made LADYBABY so unique, it seems like he does have a busy schedule and continuing as part of the group would be difficult. No official reason has been given though for him not being part of the group anymore.

Fans will be glad to see though that there is a best of album planned titled ONE YEAR BEST ~2015 – 2016~ as well as a live DVD titled LADYBABY First Japan One-man Live ~Sekai no Rule wo Kaechaou.

While it’s certainly a new generation for talented group it seems like only time will tell what kind of edge they will have without the vocals of Ladybeard (and whether the unit name will change to something a bit more easy to remember).

There will be a performance on September 17th alongside Oyasumi Hologram so fans who attend that event will be among the first to see this new incarnation of LADYBABY.
