Shuukan Idol – Way Too Many MVs Edition

BISH Cent Chicchi

In this week’s Shuukan Idol, we have a packed post with an incredible amount of MVs from Tsubaki Factory, DEADLIFT LOLITA, callme, Niji no Conquistador, E-girls, and many more. There are also a few new single announcements and even a new audition announcement.

Since there were so many releases this week we’re going to have 10 highlights instead of our traditional 6!

> Tsubaki Factory get a job in Shuukatsu Sensation, smile and get artsy in Waratte, and bloom in Hana Moyou

It was a great week for Tsubaki Factory fans since we got all of the MVs for their next release. From the fun and business-packed MV for Shuukatsu Sensation, to the more laid back and artsy Waratte, there’s something in here for everyone. All 3 are linked above so make sure to check them all out!

> DEADLIFT LOLITA pound down some protein drinks in the MV for Muscle Cocktail

Have you ever had a fight with your friend? Well, DEADLIFT LOLITA have just the solution: workout and drink protein powder together. Yes, there’s now an idol song about protein powder and it’s amazing.

> callme stand in a hall of light in the MV for One time

callme have been experimenting with an artsy look lately and this MV is packed full of it. From a hallway of hanging lights, to colorful body paint, every scene mixes well with the soft EDM sound and ballad vocals. This is an MV that should be seen more than One time.

> Beboga! get sponsored 37 times in the MV for 4 Moji Melody

Beboga! are a fairly interesting group, and their latest release is one that falls into a new category: commercial MVs. Yes, the MV has 37 commercials that appear as the members sing. Are idol MVs now going to come with unblockable ads? Probably not, but it’s a fun experiment that makes for some incredible randomness.

> Niji no Conquistador are still at the beach in the MV for Janpu!

While it might not be as bouncy as their previous MV, Niji no Conquistador take a moment to enjoy the calmer side of life with their latest video. It’s the perfect way to enjoy a relaxing evening or if you just want to enjoy that beach again.

> Yurumerumo! sing in a white void for their Eien no my boy MV

Yurumerumo! are taking a break from the fun and colorful releases to release a more calm ballad with some interesting visuals. It’s only one shot but the effects used are a treat and help give the song a great look. Get ready to get trippy!

> E-girls do a lot of sightseeing in the laid back MV for Smile For Me

Going to Las Vegas always results in some fun memories, and thankfully fans of the E-girls are getting a chance to tag along. In the video we get to see some scenes of the members in the middle of a desert and smiling at the camera while posing for selfies.

> Hello! Project are holding auditions for new members

Hello! Project auditions are famous for being among the most tough in the industry. Everyone fails, but it seems like girls who are willing to rise up to the challenge are in luck since auditions have opened to join. Will we get new members in the main groups or will they simply join a new group? Time will tell.

> Babyraids JAPAN go full ◯ in the MV for ◯◯◯◯◯

A unique single deserves a unique MV and we get just that with Babyraids JAPAN. The choreography, the setting, and the light effects all have circles, which is a treat that manages to combine well with the incredible instrumental. It’s well worth a look for those who like fast paced rock songs!

> HKT48 have a colorful party in the MV for Kiss wa Matsushikanai no Deshou ka?

What happens if you have a beach? You have a party with umbrellas in the ceiling of course, and HKT48 have done just that. It’s a colorful release and one that manages to combine an upbeat ballad with scenes of a beach that doesn’t have idols singing in bikinis (shocking).

Notable mentions:

This week we have Oyasumi Hologram and their MV for empty page.

The title is the perfect description for this release since the MV is basically only one shot. As the two sing along to the slow ballad all we get is darkness surrounding them and one light to illuminate them.

The song is calm and has only a few instruments which helps add to the atmosphere of the video. It’s simplicity at its finest and one that is well worth a look if you want to relax at night.
