Popular indie idols Nama Ham to Yaki Udon have announced a “fasting period” during which they will suspend all group activities.
They will keep appearing at their regular TV shows until March, but will not perform until they both decide to do so.
According to a very detailed blog post posted by Higashi Lisa, she mentions the difficulty the duo have had to endure in order to reach where they are now. From the freedom to do whatever they wish, to the hardships of facing too much popularity and enduring a rift between her and Nishii Marina as a result.
Without an agency, the large amount of concerts and popularity was a bit too much to handle for the self-produced idol duo. Which is understandable seeing as how they exploded in popularity since their debut in 2015.
This is a sad notice for fans of this popular indie idol group, but thankfully it’s not a goodbye. Giving the duo a chance to rest and plan out their future could mean the return of the two at a future date, however no set date has been planned for their return as of now.
We hope they get a chance to rest and reflect on their future though, since the idol world definitely needs a unique duo like them.
We hope to see you soon Nama Ham to Yaki Udon!
