EMPiRE sing in the intense rain for their 1st single’s MV titled Pierce.

Out February 27th, the single will be released in 2 editions.

Pierce will be used as the ending theme song for the anime Fairy Tail.

As we all know by now, YUKA EMPiRE decided to leave the group next month. Those who saw the MV at first might have noticed the unusual focus on her throughout the video, and we now know why. In a way, it’s a beautiful way of saying goodbye to her since the MV is packed to the brim with symbolism to give her the spotlight.

From the scenes of her closely holding the other members, to the scene of her standing in the rain without an umbrella or flower, each scene does a great job of making her stand out and add more emotion to the video. The intense rain and flower petals flying in the wind make for another fantastic addition to the video, while also giving the members a pretty unique challenge to dance in.

An interesting touch is that the choreography was actually made by the EMPiRE members themselves. The symbolism at the end of the MV with YUKA EMPiRE disappearing is pretty fitting, although it will be interesting to see if the moves at the end will be done by the others or if it was added simply to give YUKA more exposure.

But, one thing I do know is that the song is one of the best. EMPiRE has been going for a more mature sound when compared to the other members, sticking to the Avex theme. This song does carry a more slower sound, but the chorus helps make this release an impressive release that will appeal to many.

What else can I say? It’s an amazing MV and song that is well worth taking a look, so make sure to do that and grab a copy of the single if you’re into it!
