This week’s Shuukan Idol is packed full of holiday cheer as we celebrate a time of togetherness for all and spread cheer throughout the internet for idol fans around the world.
Head on over the break for our top 6 highlights of the week!
That sentence above in the idol world is something that many never expected to see, and with good reason. AKB48 and Morning Musume have been rivals ever since AKB48 was established, but it seems like even rival groups have gotten into the holiday spirit with this decision.
Rival groups performing together might be shocking, but having 3 out of the 5 members of a rising rap idol group decide to graduate at the same time is equally shocking. No reasons were given as to why, but lyrical school is in for a big change this coming year.
Mochi, funky instruments, and a slightly over-filtered MV combine to form one of Bandjanaimon!’s most interesting releases. Is this colorful release worth a look for fans?
Team Syachihoko have been hard at work promoting their latest singles and performing for a while now, but thankfully we will finally be able to enjoy a new album. Packed full of their latest releases, this will certainly be a must have for fans!
With leader Tsugunaga Momoko about to graduate, it seems like Country Girls are gearing up for an interesting year. Kicking off this year they have a uniquely titled single that is sure to please many, confuse some, and make others hungry.
Iikubo Haruna has long been a member that is talented but is often overshadowed by others, but thankfully that has changed. A new PB is almost here, and the former model will finally get a chance to show off her looks for everyone to enjoy. Will you be getting a copy?
It’s been a while since we’ve mentioned an update for the site, but with a new year upon us we wanted to mention a few fun things we have in mind for the coming year.
First and most important of all, there will most likely be a new site name in time for the new year. This has been long, long overdue and something I’ve wanted to take care of since I made the site.
The main reason is the fact that when the site was established, I wanted to focus on all things Asian music so I picked a name that was slightly ambiguous. As time went by though, I realized that idol music and J-pop is what I know best and decided to focus on that. Unfortunately, the site name needs to update to reflect that.
What will the new site name be? I’m between a few choices at the moment, but I will be mentioning it next week on the site and on Twitter for any opinions before making it live.
I hope the new site name will allow for the site to grow even more and accurately reflect the content we provide.
Speaking of content, we also want to provide more than simply news. Reviews have been sparse (thanks work) so with the new year I want to focus more on reviews as well as occasional posts with my favorite MVs, releases of the month, or something similar.
In fact, we have one that we are working on that should be out in time for the new year next week so please look forward to that.
That being said, today is a time for togetherness and spreading holiday cheer. It has been a rough year for everyone, for a variety of circumstances that differ for everyone, so if you see someone that is having a bad day try your best to spread cheer and happiness.
Spend time with those you love, do that which makes you happy, and just have an amazing time to end the year off with a smile.
It’s going to be a big year up ahead, so thank you for following our site and supporting us!
The holiday season is often packed with Christmas songs from different idol songs, and this year is no different. Those who have followed me since my Hello! SayuNii days are aware of how Momusu has a special place in my heart.
So, in honor of this holiday season, here is a special gem that fans of the group will love:
Happy holidays everyone, and stay tuned for the next one!
