Shuukan Idol – Brand New Morning Edition

BiSH Ayuni D

In this week’s Shuukan Idol, we got a packed lineup. From Morning Musume’s ominous marching EDM song to a chilling MV from NECRONOMIDOL. We have 6 highlights from this week for you to enjoy!

Morning Musume ’17 march towards a brighter tomorrow in the MV for BRAND NEW MORNING

Catchy EDM, military-esque marching, and uplifting lyrics. Momusu’s latest MV has it all, and is honestly among the best songs I’ve heard this month. Sadly, the only thing it was missing was more Oda Sakura. Make sure to check it out!

NECRONOMIDOL brave the cold in the chilling MV for ITHAQUA

The queens of darkness are back and this time they’re braving the cold with a chilling release for fans to enjoy. ITHAQUA is solid with a brilliant instrumental and dark lyrics, perfect for fans of the darker side. Their new album is available worldwide through Bandcamp so make sure to check out the MV and grab it to support them!

Tokyo Girls’ Style get up early for their predawn MV

While they might not fit into the idol formula, Tokyo Girls’ Style are among the most interesting groups on the scene. Combining EDM and Hip Hop, they manage to make an artistic release that is a must see.

Iketeru Hearts go diabolically cute for the Zaisho no Lucifer MV

Going dark is all the rage in the idol scene, with even the innocent members of Iketeru Hearts showing off their evil side with their latest MV. It’s fairly cute and packed full of effects, making it an impressive and fairly catchy release.

Sato Masaki is making a comeback from her hiatus

Sato Masaki has been out for a few months now, and fans have been awaiting her return anxiously. Thankfully, the wait is finally over with her announcing her return this month just in time for the new concert tour. Welcome back!

The winners for the Up Up Girls (2) audition are …

Up Up Girls recently had an audition where a group of lucky members would be forming part of their lineup. The wait is finally over, and the results are fairly interesting. Who won? Check out the full post!

Notable mentions:

Seiko Oomori is fairly interesting, and her latest release is even more interesting. In what can be best be called adorable blasphemy she appears alongside several others in the colorful MV for her track Dogma Magma, part of her 3rd album kitixxxgaia.

The song itself is  …. weird. It’s a bit all over the place and has some noise elements with a chaotic instrumental. Likewise the MV is colorful and has scenes that seem to bend reality, with words failing to describe the randomness that appears.

All in all, it’s a weird release and it will probably confuse you. Here you go!
