Sato Sumire has announced that she will be graduating from SKE48, leaving her talent agency Horipro, and retiring from the entertainment business.

She joined the entertainment business as a child actor when she was 6 and has been active in acting and singing for 18 years.

According to her, she mentioned how during these 18 years she has learned many things, especially how the entertainment industry is beautiful and cruel. However she wants to move on as a normal 24 year old girl and enjoy life.

Her graduation is set for December 19th. However, she will also hold another graduation concert along with AKB48 at the 7th generation live on December 15th. She will also hold a final handshake event on January 7th, 2018.

Sato Sumire auditioned for Morning Musume’s 8th generation, placing among the final 5. However, she joined AKB48 as a Kenkyuusei on December 2008. She was then promoted to Team B in August 2009, transferred to Team in August 2012, and finally to SKE48’s Team E in February 2014.

It’s hard to imagine that there are several entertainers who wish to return to a boring life of a normal person. However, spending your entire life in the industry without knowing what a normal life is like can be too much. Thankfully Sato will have time to enjoy life and not worry about the stress of the entertainment industry.

Make sure to go to one of her final performances if you’re in the area. Sato, enjoy your life out of the limelight, you deserve it!
