News

> Hoshino Nia and Pinky Ayane’s unit Nyapin announce 1st album

Dempagumi.inc and Moso Calibration fans, take note. Nia and Pinky’s unit Nyapin will be releasing their 1st album this October. Yes, this is completely out of nowhere, but it sounds like a nice release for fans of the unit. All the details we know so far are available in the post above.

> Here are all the coupling MVs for AKB48’s 53rd single

Do you want to listen to almost every song in AKB48’s latest single? Thankfully, we got a chance to do that today when we got a short version of all of the coupling tracks. From an MV in the middle of a forest to a salsa-inspired track, there’s something here for everyone to enjoy.

> EMPiRE get tied to the front of a truck in the MV for S.O.S.

Need something to make you question your sanity? Look no further than EMPiRE’s latest MV which shows off the members as they’re bound in front of a truck while wearing leather masks. The song doesn’t match the video at all, but that doesn’t matter at all, it’s just so … different.

> Yukueshirezu Tsurezure sing in a broken down house for their Phantom Kiss MV

Yukueshirezu Tsurezure releases amazing MVs and the one used to promote their latest album Exfallen is one of their best yet. Taking place in a broken down home, the group performs while in chains and wearing white outfits. It’s an impressive video and one that goes perfectly with the light touch from Attila’s Fronz. Well worth a look!

> NECRONOMIDOL announce 3rd album, titled VOIDHYMN

It has been some time since we last saw an album from NECRONOMIDOL, so why don’t we change that? We just got news that we would be enjoying a new album from this dark idol group soon. Full details are available above!

> AKB48 sketch Matsui Jurina in the unfinished MV for Sentimental Train

It was a pretty sad day when we got news that Matsui Jurina would not be taking part in AKB48’s 53rd single. However, when we were told that there would be an MV without her and one with her, many were curious. Would the MV just not reference her at all? Well, it does reference her in a rather unique way.

> Broken By The Scream get heavy in the MV for Sayonara Birthday

Broken By The Scream are on a roll lately and they’re showing no signs of stopping. Need some evidence? Check out their latest MV for Sayonara Birthday which is packed full of high and low screams, bands shredding in the background, and mirrored shots of the members. It’s so cool and well worth a look!

> Hello! Project All Stars go all out in the MV for YEAH YEAH YEAH

Hello! Project are celebrating the 20th anniversary of Hello! Project in style by releasing a new MV featuring every single member. Yes, every single member of Hello! Project makes an appearance in this star studded release. Enjoy the MV above!

Encore

This week we have Qumali Depart and their MV for Nijyuuyon Jikan Shiroku Jichuu.

If there’s something I love more than alternative idols is the use of 8-bit music along with idols, and thankfully that’s something that Qumali Depart use perfectly for their latest MV. Yes, it’s mostly live shots of the members performing as well as messing around backstage and out in public. However, it’s adorable and combined with the chiptune music it makes for a happy and fun release that’s sure to please fans of idols.

They’re a relatively small group but their latest MV is a good sign of what they’re capable of so I’ll make sure to keep an eye out for anything more from them. Even if you’re not into chiptune music, I strongly encourage you to check them out!

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like they have any physical releases on CDJapan. But, check out their Youtube channel to subscribe and give them a like. I’m sure some more likes and views are sure to help them out as they grow in popularity.

That’s it for this week, stay tuned for the next one!
