LADYBABY Are Recruiting New Members, Announce Memorial Album

The Idol Formerly Known As LADYBABY Kaneko Rie

LADYBABY have announced the launch of new member auditions.

The auditions were announced on Twitter where it was commented that the total amount of winners had not been decided. There is a possibility of 4 – 6 girls joining the group, or only 2.

Applicants must be women between the ages of 16 and 22 who are not currently performing with other groups. The deadline to apply will be on January 21st, with a scheduled unveil of new members set for early March.

There will also be a memorial album release set for March 7th. The album will contain 10 songs, a 48 page photo book, and a B2 foldout poster.

One interesting detail to note is that the memorial album specifically says that it will be for The Idol Formerly Known as LADYBABY, while the audition references the group only as LADYBABY.

After the departure of Kuromiya Rei back in November, the future of LADYBABY was put into question after the remaining member Kaneko Rie was left to carry the group by herself. Thankfully, it seems like she has decided to continue the group with new members.

More details are sure to be released, but the fact that we are getting a memorial album and new members should please fans who wanted to see this group continue. Stay tuned for more!
