AKB48 member Takeuchi Miyu has announced that she will graduate from the group.
The announcement was done on SHOWROOM where she thanked fans, friends, and AKB48 staff for their support. She mentioned that she wished to walk on a new path by herself and therefore decided to graduate from AKB48.
Miyu also commented that she wished to be active globally and be promoted as an artist who can not only sing, but also dance and act.
Her last handshake event will be on December 23, 2018. No set graduation date has been announced at the moment, but Takeuchi Miyu will graduate in 2018.
Takeuchi Miyu joined AKB48 in 2009 and from there she moved to a variety of teams. Team Unknown in 2010, Team 4 in 2011, and finally to Team B in 2012. She is known for playing a variety of musical instruments and for having a Youtube channel where she covers songs.
Miyu is by far one of the most talented members of AKB48, but with her having reached her 10 year tenure with the group it’s not surprising to see that she wishes to see what else she can do in life.
For now, we wish the best of luck to Takeuchi Miyu and hope that whatever she chooses to do in life makes her happy. Best of luck Miyu!
