Tokyo Girls’ Style transform into magical idols in the MV for their 26th single titled Hikaru yo.
Out February 27th, the single will be a double a-side along with the track Reborn.
Tokyo Girls’ Style are an interesting group. They try and distance themselves away from the idol world, releasing songs that are more mature with a sound you’d expect to hear from a soloist from avex. However, they’ve recently begun to warm up to the idea of the idol world, with their latest single having a pretty strong idol feel to it.
It’s a short MV but in it we get to see Tokyo Girls’ Style as they dance along with a variety of background dancers. There’s a magical girl transformation thrown in there where the members change clothes to be a bit more colorful, which matches the vibrant and upbeat sound of the song which has a cheerier sound compared to their past releases.
It’s an interesting turn for the group who proudly stayed away from the term “idol”. In the end, as long as we keep on getting incredible music that’s all that matters, and thankfully this song manages to be another outstanding release from Tokyo Girls’ Style
