Nogizaka46 captain Sakurai Reika has announced her graduation.
According to Sakurai, she made the decision to graduate in order to allow the group to grow more. She comments on how the group has grown and how seeing all of them working hard made her want a new milestone outside of the group.
She will graduate from the group on September 1st at the end of their Nogizaka46 Manatsu no Zenkoku Tour 2019.
Being the first captain of of a successful idol group is something that only a few members can do. But, seeing the success that Nogizaka46 has achieved is something to be proud of.
Of course, her decision to leave the group is a sad one. But, as she mentioned this decision is a great one for the future of other members since they’ll be able to grow and shine in the limelight.
We don’t have much of an idea of what she plans to do in the future, but for now we wish the best of luck to Sakurai Reika!
