In this week’s Shuukan Idol, we get a ton of news about Hello! Project groups, including Country Girls, Tsubaki Factory, C-ute, Morning Musume ’17, and the ever elusive Michishige Sayumi. But, we also have some news from the alternative idol group DEEP GIRL who seem to be in quite the interesting situation.
That and more in our top 6 highlights of the week!
Being Tsugunaga Momoko’s final release, it seems fitting that we get to enjoy a song that shows off their sweet side. Showing off the members as they work in a lab, it’s a fun release for those who prefer sweeter songs.
C-ute are disbanding soon, but that hasn’t stopped them from ensuring fans are able to check them out before they go their separate ways. Details for a final live and VIP meet in Mexico City and Paris have been released, so make sure to check them out!
Michishige Sayumi’s return was amazing news for those of us who have long been awaiting the return of the Usa-chan queen. Sadly we don’t know what she will be doing in her return (Magic?), but FC fans will find out soon with a series of events.
Tsubaki Factory have been dominating the indies idol scene for some time now, but with their recently announced debut comes the need of a catchy song. Hatsukoi Sunrise is the perfect debut song, showing off a catchy upbeat sound with a cool MV for fans to enjoy. This song is already one of my favorites, make sure to check it out!
DEEP GIRL has been going through tough times. With the withdrawal of Mashilo a week ago, it seems like nothing could be worse … except for another member announcing their withdrawal: Non. Will DEEP GIRL continue with only two members or are we seeing the end of a unique group?
Camping is fun, but if you’re Morning Musume the only way you can enjoy a camping trip is with the help of miso. Based off the classic Morning Coffee, we get a modern rendition of the song with some lyrics featuring everyone’s favorite camping food. It’s a tie-in, but it’s done so well I’ll gladly throw my wallet at the screen.
- Morning Musume ’17 announce their 63rd single
- FES☆TIVE get a girl addicted to onsens in the MV for Disco Retto Ukiyo no Yume
This week we have a song from 2o Love to Sweet Bullet, an idol group that not only has a fairly interesting name, but also some catchy songs that fans of EDM will love.
Perfume might have the EDM idol market cornered, but that doesn’t stop the many talented idol groups that have risen to share their songs with fans all over the world.
2o Love to Sweet Bullet is one of them, and while I might not have covered them before I have been keeping up with their music and have been constantly impressed with their songs.
The EDM touch of this song Sokode Sakende Watashi ni Oshiete Hoshi is catchy, and all of the members have a nice set of vocals which lend themselves to the song well (Karin being already my favorite from the group).
According to the description, the song is unreleased, but those who loved the song are encouraged to check out their other releases:
That’s it for this week, make sure to stay tuned in for the next one!
