Shuukan Idol – Thank You C-ute Edition

C-ute Last Album

In this week’s Shuukan Idol, we say goodbye to one of the idol scene’s most influential groups: C-ute.

Today is their final live together as a group before they go their separate ways. Thank you C-ute for over a decade of amazing music that fans all over the world can enjoy!

That being said, this week we have a large variety of news including MVs from ANGERME and Fairies. We also get a few new singles announced, a preview for BiSH’s amazing mini album, and more in our 6 highlights of the week!

> ANGERME make me feel things with their emotional MV for Namida Iro no Ketsui

ANGERME are about to release a new single, and thankfully the first MV is out. Packed full of muted colors and a giant, floating CGI tear, the members manage to pack in a solid ballad with this release. If you’re a fan of slower songs this MV is highly recommended!

> Action! Fairies debut their film-filled MV for Koi no Roadshow

Fairies are masters of a mature tone, and thankfully they have just released a solid song that fans are sure to adore. Every scene is filled with movie related props that help give it a unique look that pairs well with the fast paced shift in scenes. Check out this release since it’s fairly catchy!

> BiSH reveal the punk idol packed previews for their mini album GiANT KiLLERS

It’s BiSH. Seriously, why are you still reading this? Go check out the preview, it’s so good!

> Babyraids JAPAN are weirdly cool, announce 14th single titled ◯◯◯◯◯

This might not be the most unique name for an idol song (that honor goes to BiSH’s VOMiT SONG) but the fact that the name for a song is just a bunch of circles is sure to be an interesting treat for fans. Full details for this release are available above!

> Matsuno Rina gets immortalized with a memorial PB titled RINA

With the tragic passing of Matsuni Rina (Shiritsu Ebisu Chuugaku), many were hoping to see some kind of last release in order to have a memory of their favorite member. Thankfully, a special PB will be released that shows off her many modeling appearances. It’s a touching release and one that fans are sure to appreciate.

> Country Girls announce future plans, no one seems happy

Country Girls have release a special transfer system that they will be implementing once Tsugunaga Momoko graduates. While at first glance it seemed like a unique idea, reading the reactions of the members leaves many … not happy. Full details are available above, so check it out and let us know what you think of this new system.

Notable mentions:

This week we have a new MV for Chu-Z titled Yubiwa no Yukue. Out June 21st, the single will be their 5th major release and will be released in 2 versions.

The MV is fairly unique since the music video doesn’t contain much music at all. It’s more of a 12 minute drama which showcases a love story of a couple who fight and the many memories they lived through.

If you only want the music, skip to 5:01, 7:48, and a few other sections in the video (there’s too many). Thankfully, the song is solid with a strong beat and a ballad sound, making it a powerful release for those who prefer to focus on the slower side of life.

Sure, it’s hard to enjoy the song with the drama in the way, but it’s a nice touch to get a bit (a lot) of story instead of just the typical dance and close-up shots. The video is blocked in some areas, so hopefully you’re able to check it out!
