This week we finally got to see what the AKB48 Senbatsu results are! Also, Momusu marriage, and surprise graduations from both AKB48 and Niji no Conquistador?!
That and more in our top 5 highlights of the week!
Without a doubt the Senbatsu is something AKB fans all over the world are waiting for every year, and while there were surprises all over it seems like it was a fun event all around.
The original list featured only the Senbatsu members, but I added the full list for those who are looking for their favorite member and how they compared. Did your oshimen win?
Newspapers were hinting at it but it was finally confirmed by Nyan Nyan Kamen herself: her graduation is finally set.
With the recent announcement that Nagata Minari had been fired from the group, we get yet another member lose for this idol group: Shigematsu Yuka.
Having been a big fan of Gaki ever since I got into Japanese idol music, I have been waiting to hear more about her plans to marry ever since she graduated from Momusu. We finally got the news, congrats!
Idol group name changes are somewhat rare, but I have to admit that while Period of Plastic 2 Mercy was a unique name I am loving the newer name a tad more.
- E-Girls announce two consecutive single releases
- SKE48 announce their 20th single
- NGT48 to major debut at last
The review release will be put on a slight hold since life got slightly busy during the week, but as soon as I get some breathing room outside of posting news I’ll get it finished up and posted for everyone to enjoy.
Since half of the week’s news have a 48 somewhere in the title, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to show off some AKB48 music for those who are still hyped up by the Senbatsu.
…. But since AKB48 and HKT48 are both still Japan-only on Youtube we’ll have to go with the next best option: NMB48!
What says summer more than a group of Japanese idols dancing in unison to an upbeat song next to a pool? Not much, except for a group of Japanese idols dancing in unison in bikinis.
Thanks for tuning in this week, we’ll see you again on the next one!
