Shuukan Idol – Rise of the EMPiRE Edition

empire yuka yuki

In this week’s Shuukan Idol, we have a handful of MVs for Zenbu Kimi no Sei Da, Yurumerumo!, NECRONOMIDOL, Momoka Ariyasu, Oomori Seiko, and Candye Syrup. There’s also a handful of new releases and even more MVs because why not.

That and more in our 7 highlights of the week!

> Zenbu Kimi no Sei Da fight evil eye buildings in the colorful MV for Misfit Lovers

Imagine BiSH’s DEADMAN and you’ll have a good idea what to expect. Actually, you won’t because it’s Zenbu Kimi no Sei Da. But, it is incredibly upbeat, catchy, and full of scenes of the members as they run around the city. There’s also some headbutting, screaming vocals, and even incredibly colorful scenes that are all a must see!

> Yurumerumo! enjoy the beauty of the world in the MV for A! Sekai wa Hiroi Sugoi

Yurumerumo! are known for their energy, and this release is no different. In it we get to see the members as they dance around and enjoy the beautiful temples, streets, and other sights together. It’s calmer than other songs, but it does have an upbeat sound that is sure to be a hit with fans.

> NECRONOMIDOL lead a parade down the streets in the MV for ABHOTH

What do you get when you combine NECRONOMIDOL members in all white alongside an army of undead fans? An amazing MV of course, packed full of confused bystanders witnessing an epic parade. Make sure to check it out above!

> Colored pencils attack in Momoka Ariyasu (Momoiro Clover Z)’s MV for Iro Enpitsu

MVs that have a drawn style are always welcome, and thankfully Momoka’s video is packed full of it. There is a story in there that goes perfectly well with the relaxing tune of the song, where a drawing discovers the beauty of music. It’s incredibly relaxing, so make sure to watch it at night or when you need a break from the world.

> Time to get down with Candye Syrup’s adorably hardcore track IDOL OF DEATH

Candye Syrup are delightful. They’re hardcore but also incredibly sweet, making for a unique combination that not many idol fans have had a chance to enjoy. Thankfully, they’ve released a new song and it’s incredibly heavy. Brutal vocals, adorable lines, and a black and white filter are all you need to enjoy this amazing song!

> EMPiRE get unmasked, meet the members

When EMPiRE debuted, they had giant black robes that were a bit awkward to look at. Thankfully, the time has come for them to show their faces and they are a well rounded group. Check out their individual pictures in the post above and make sure to follow them on Twitter!

> Kuromiya Rei crushes a lot of fruit in Oomori Seiko’s Mix Juice MV

Oomori Seiko is making waves in the J-pop world with her music, going for unique themes that are just so weirdly cool. Her latest one features Rei from LADYBABY as she crushes fruit along with a random guy. If you’re into cute alternative idols crushing fruits while smiling at the camera (why though?), then you’ll feel right at home.

Notable mentions:

This week we have Dance for philosophy and their song Just Memories.

I’m usually not a ballad kind of person but this song is just one of those songs that you have to sit down and enjoy from start to finish.

An amazing song wouldn’t be much if it weren’t for the visuals and this MV is packed full of them. Ranging from scenes of them dancing on a roof at night, to sitting in a yard in the day, every scene adds in just the right amount of emotion for the song.

Enough explaining, just enjoy it below!
