Perfume have released the short MV of their upcoming track titled FLASH.
The song is part of their new album titled COSMIC EXPLORER which will be releasing on April 6th.
The preview might be short and the setting might be literally just a concrete floor and white walls, but the MV manages to show off a side of Perfume that many normally don’t see with a minimalistic look.
The dance, the subtle lines that form here and there as they move, and the beat of the song all combine to form a solid MV that is hard to explain but a treat to enjoy.
It’s a must see for everyone so head over the break and get a copy of the album while you’re at it since Perfume are promising an amazing treat for everyone!
Perfume have released the covers for their upcoming release titled COSMIC EXPLORER.
Releasing April 6th, this album will be their 6th and will feature remixes as well as new songs.
Unfortunately the quality of the covers is a bit lacking (thanks Facebook) but it’s nice to see that we at least have some kind of theme to find out what’s in store for us.
In terms of looks alone the covers are amazing. Each featuring a different motif, they seem to have a blue look alongside some interesting imagery.
From the covers alone I am definitely a fan of the Limited edition since it seems to have a symmetrical look to it. The regular edition is not that far away, with a folded origami look to it that’s just amazing.
Definitely recommended (and already reserved from my end), this album is shaping up to be an amazing one!
Perfume have announced that their upcoming 6th album will be titled COSMIC EXPLORER.
The album will contain songs from Sweet Refrain as well as their most recent releases covering their 15th-anniversary releases. It will be available in 3 versions: Regular, Limited A as well as B and will be out on April 6th.

Alongside the album, there will be a Japanese tour covering areas where the group hasn’t performed before, as well as a US tour. Dates for the US tour haven’t been revealed yet but we should be getting them soon.
No other info such as cover art has been revealed but with the details above and the video they released (after the break) it seems like Perfume and fans alike are in for an amazing new album. It has been a long time since we last saw an album so the way they plan to promote it is just the cherry on top of the already exciting release.
Perfume have announced that they will be teaming up with OK Go in a group called OK GoxPerfume to perform the song I Don’t Understand You for the anime SUSHI POLICE.
The anime itself is eye catching due to the interesting concept. A group of three are part of an association that review Japanese foods overseas to ensure their authenticity. Simple story, but it has won a poster award at the Cannes Movie Festival so it’s worth checking out if you’re on the fence.
As for the actual song, not much is known, apart from it being a dance tune, but it seems like the members are both excited to work together. A-chan remarked that the song is stylish and that the ability to make music that crosses oceans and labels is unbelievable.
They have worked previously in other videos but the fact that they are working on music and not cameos on MVs such as Pick Me Up is an amazing sign.
The anime has started since January 6, so make sure to tune into the anime and check out the song. Or, check out the preview of the anime after the break!
Perfume will be providing the theme song titled FLASH for the movie Chihayafuru.
Following a similar trend to current movies, there will be several parts of the movie. The 1st is titled Chihayafuru ~Kami no Ku~ which will be out March 19. The 2nd part will be titled Chihayafuru ~Shimo no Ku~ and it will be out shortly after on April 29.
For those unfamiliar with the manga, it’s about a story of lost friends hoping to find each other with a card game as the basis. The trailer does a good job of showing off the mood. A somewhat serious mood, with the happy song bein performed by Perfume that breaks the tension at times.
The most interesting thing is that the song FLASH hasn’t been announced as a single or as part of an album. We’re due for either so it seems like it’s a waiting game to find out just how we will be enjoying this song.
For now, it’s a great time to be a Perfume fan due to all of the promotion the group is receiving so those who are in the area are recommended to check out the movie this Spring.
The MV for Perfume’s upcoming single titled STAR TRAIN has been released.
Right from the start it seems like the MV fulfills two purposes: promote the song, and promote their upcoming documentary. This is mainly due to the fact that the bulk of the video is comprised of them looking at a movie screen while a projector plays behind them showing scenes from the documentary.
Is that a good thing? It is in a way that we get a small preview alongside a calm scene that ties in nicely. It might be a bit of a downer for some since we don’t get much of a unique theme apart from them singing to each other on a platform and a few scenes at the start. Regardless, it’s a nice video for the song and one that fans will appreciate for the previews of the upcoming documentary.
The single has been out since October 28, so if you haven’t bought a copy, now’s the time to check the song out and do so!
