Bish Hashiyatsume Atsuko

In this week’s Shuukan Idol, we get to enjoy the wonderful and colorful releases of Sakidori Hasshinkyoku and LADYBABY. We also get to enjoy the last MV release from C-ute, new singles from a handful of groups, and much more in our top 6 highlights of the week!

Sakidori Hasshinkyoku debut with their catchy It’s a Show Time! MV

Sakidori Hasshinkyoku are one of those idol groups that have barely debuted and already have captured the hearts of fans. In fact, their 1st MV is packed full of the randomness that we love from Japanese groups. It can’t be described with words, but this might be among the most powerful debuts that an idol group has had!

Michishige Sayumi is back! Full SAYUMINGLANDOLL event details released

To H!P fans, Sayu is nothing short of a legend. Her return was foretold in a variety of cryptic blogs, with her second coming finally being announced after a long hiatus. Details for her debut event have been released, so make sure to check them out!

The final act begins! C-ute debut their final MV The Curtain Rises

C-ute have had a long and successful career as one of Hello! Project’s most recognizable idol groups. This is why it’s no surprise that the MVs for their final single are some of their best. Final Squall was impressive. To Tomorrow was inspirational. But what about The Curtain Rises?

AKB48 go full 48! 48th single announced, titled Negaigoto no Mochigusare

AKB48 are a powerhouse of a group. Thankfully details for this single are out and it seems like we’re in for another great release. Find out which members will be in this release and who made the cut as center!

Lick lick! The Idol Formerly Known As LADYBABY show off their MV for Pelo

After Easter Bunny, LADYBABY fans have been anxiously awaiting the release for the main track. Thankfully the wait is over and it’s wonderful. Packed full of colorful effects, lollipop licking, and a random disembodied voice of a not-LADYBEARD, it’s a powerful track that fans are sure to adore.

ANGERME reveal their 23rd single, titled Ai Sae Areba Nanni mo Iranai

ANGERME have been somewhat quiet lately after the hiatus of Aikawa Maho and the release of their latest single back in October. Thankfully, the wait for a new single is over and details have been released for their 23rd single. It seems like we’re in for an amazing release so make sure to check out the post for full details of what we know so far!

Notable mentions:

Flap Girls School (not affiliated with the popular portable game) appear to be an established idol group. They’ve been releasing several videos, and it seems like we’re in for a treat since they’re promoting their 6th single titled Kimi o Mamori Kiru.

It’s a bit on the ballad side, but it’s packed full of powerful EDM in the instrumental. In fact, the song is the shining part of this release since it’s catchy and full of emotion.

Visually it’s a bit on the simple side with only a handful of shots. They continue the long established tradition of having teenage aged girls singing in an abandoned factory. If those shots aren’t enough, there are some drone scenes of them singing in a suspiciously empty field.

While we continue to wonder how they got in that factory (idols are surprisingly good at breaking into factories), I recommend checking out the MV since it’s quite catchy!

If you’d like to support them check out their releases and their latest single which will be out April 18th:

That’s it for this week, make sure to stay tuned in for the next one!
