AKB48’s Nagao Mariya To Graduate From Group

Nagao Mariya AKB48

AKB48’s Nagao Mariya has announced her graduation from the group.

The announcement was done during their performance at AKB48 Theater, so it was quite sudden for the many fans in attendance.

Graduations are always shocking and this one is no exception. Of course, members change quite rapidly since it is a rather large group but nonetheless she will be missed.

Thankfully, it seems like she wants to be an active member in entertainment so this might not be the last we see of her.

No graduation date has been announced, but we should be finding out in the coming months.

AKB48 “Kuchibiru ni Be My Baby” MV Previews Released

AKB48 Kuchibiru ni Be my Baby

The short MVs for the rest of AKB48’s Kuchibiru ni Be My Baby have been released.

Hold on to your bandwidth folks, this post is packed with MVs.

Obviously commenting on each would take quite a lot of time, but basically they can be summed up in a sentence each.

Kimi wo Kimi wo Kimi wo has a cute idol sound to it and it’s not surprising since this song features some of the newer members, but it’s a perfect song for the group. Yasashii Place has a slower and more ballad taste to it with a mature overtone. The dark theme is a nice contrast so it’s one of those videos for the fans of the adult side of the group.

Madonna no Sentaku has a nice beat combined with more laid back vocals alongside a line of commercial inspired shots of each of the members. Onee-san no Hitorigoto is one of those unique Japanese videos since it has a bright happy feel to it combined with weird but nice visuals while the members perform.

Kin no Kane wo Motsu Hito yo has a harder beat combined with vocals from guys in between the girls singing. With a set inspired straight out of a Rammstein video, we get to enjoy some fast paced music to some slow and dreary factory shots (factory idols?). Nanka, Chotto, Kyuu ni .. is a fantasy themed song with a calm feel to it if you’re a fan of mannequins then you’ll feel right at home.

Finally, Senaka Kotoba is the main track fans will be looking for, mainly due to it being Takahashi Minami’s graduation song and it’s perfect. The beat is slow, and we see shots of her from the past as well as several shots of her as she pulls ropes with the words that represent her history in the group.

This is the highlight of the single, and rightfully so. The shots of Minami as she grows with the group with shots of walking alongside her team is a nice touch. It’s hard to not feel nostalgic, especially if you’ve followed the group since it started.

Check out all of the songs after the break and get those pre-orders in since the single will be released on December 9!

AKB48 “365 Nicho no Kamihikouki” MV Released

AKB48 Nicho no Kamihikouki

The MV for AKB48’s 365 Nichi no Kamihikouki has been released.

This song is the coupling for Kuchibiru ni Be My Baby, so naturally I was expecting a ballad of some sort to complement the more energetic a-side.

Surprisingly, the song is focused on Sayaka and it’s a nice choice since the song is perfectly suited to her. The beat is slow and passionate so it is just what I imagined and I’m not disappointed since it provides a solid complement for the single.

December 9 is the release of this monumental single, and hopefully this song helps push many to get a copy since it is shaping up to be a solid single so far!

AKB48 “Amanojaku Batter” MV Released

AKB48 Amanojaku

The MV for AKB48’s Team 8 Amanojaku Batter MV released.

The song itself is quite active, with a rapid and catchy beat alongside some interesting choreography featuring synchronized dance by the members alongside a trippy theme where the members are repeated over and over again to make a dancing idol crowd appear.

Of course, this is every fan’s dream but while it might be short it is sweet so it’s highly recommended to check it out.

Release is set for December 9, so get that copy of the single reserved!

AKB48 “Kuchibiru ni Be My Baby” MV Released

Takahashi Minami Kuchibiru Be My Baby

The MV for Takahashi Minami’s last single with AKB48 titled Kuchibiru ni Be My Baby has been released.

Since this is her last MV it seems like they did their best to capture her image perfectly and thankfully it seems like all the members did an amazing job to ensure for an epic video with her in the middle in an amazing costume.

The theme is quite fun since it features a note being written for Minami in a school setting, which of course is a bit normal for the group, but the addition of fun photos with each of the members makes for an amazing video.

It’s just a preview so there’s not that much to see in terms of story, but it’s a perfect preview of what’s to come, check it out after the break!

Takahashi Minami Graduation Concert Date Announced

Takahashi Minami Concert

Takahashi Minami’s final concert date has been revealed to be in March 2016.

The announcement was made at the final AKB48 handshake event for her, where it was also revealed that there will be a final AKB48 Theater performance after the final concert.

While it is sad to see that she will be leaving the group, it’s nice to see that we will be indeed enjoying a bit more from her despite the impending graduation.

Fans are sure to be on the lookout for tickets since it seems like this last performance will indeed be among the most impressive in the history of the group!

The final concerts will take place on March 26-27, and the final Theater performance is set for March 28.

AKB48’s 42nd Single Titled “Kuchibiru ni Be My Baby”

Takahashi Minami AKB48

It was announced during a handshake event in Hokkaido that the title for AKB48’s 42nd single will be Kuchibiru ni Be My Baby.

Alongside the release, there will be a special set list made by Takahashi at the AKB48 Theater, but there is no current info about that at the moment. Still, it’s a relief to find out more info about this single since it is one of the most important due to it being the last for Minami.

From the title alone it seems like we might be getting a ballad or a traditional idol song so it will be nice to find out what it sounds like. Of course, we should be getting a preview anytime soon since the release is around a month away.

The release date is set for December 9, so make sure to get that copy pre-ordered!

Details For Takahashi Minami’s Last Single With AKB48 Released

Takahashi Minami

Details for AKB48’s 42nd single, currently untitled, have been released.

The details were released during the handshake event on October 25.

As expected, Takahashi Minami will be the center for the single, here is a comment from her translated by Tokyo Girl Update:

I have been assigned center position for my final AKB48 single.
The last time I stood center by myself was Sakura no Hanabiratachi, released when we were still on an independent label.
The single will be a definitive idol song in AKB48 style.
I am really happy that my final single here is an idol song.
Since it is not a song where I leave graduation messages for everyone, I sincerely hope it will be performed by many members and loved by all the fans even after I graduate.

It’s certainly nice to see more details about this release so we can begin to get ready for it. Unfortunately, it was only a handful. That means that our tracklist consists of nothing but TBD titles alongside one B-side title.

We will hopefully find out more in the coming month with some previews to look forward to.The single will be released on December 9, the day after AKB48 will be celebrating their 10th year anniversary. More details, such as the tracklist, are available after the break!

Matsui Jurina Leaves AKB48, To Remain In SKE48

Matsui Jurina

Matsui Jurina has announced that she will be leaving her current position in AKB48 to continue only in SKE48.

She made the announcement during the broadcast of AKB48 All Night Nippon ~Konya, Matsui Jurina ga Namahousou de Juudia Happyou SP~ with Akimoto being present.

According to Matsui Jurina, she wanted SKE48 to lead the other groups and surpass them, but since she was in both groups it was a bit of a conflict. With the graduation of Rena, she decided to commit herself to SKE48 only.

I can imagine how hard it must be to be in two groups that while being in the same company are competing against each other in some sense so her decision seems natural. Of course, some might be upset but to me this is definitely the best choice so she’s happy with her performances and can perform at her best.

So far, we don’t have any set date for her graduation from AKB48. We should find out soon, until then please continue supporting Matsui Jurina in SKE48!
