The MV for Perfume’s upcoming single titled STAR TRAIN has been released.

Right from the start it seems like the MV fulfills two purposes: promote the song, and promote their upcoming documentary. This is mainly due to the fact that the bulk of the video is comprised of them looking at a movie screen while a projector plays behind them showing scenes from the documentary.

Is that a good thing? It is in a way that we get a small preview alongside a calm scene that ties in nicely. It might be a bit of a downer for some since we don’t get much of a unique theme apart from them singing to each other on a platform and a few scenes at the start. Regardless, it’s a nice video for the song and one that fans will appreciate for the previews of the upcoming documentary.

The single has been out since October 28, so if you haven’t bought a copy, now’s the time to check the song out and do so!

Perfume will be re-releasing their albums from Complete Best to Perfume Global Compilation: Love the World on 180g vinyl.

They will be released individually as well as a complete box titled Perfume Complete LP BOX which will feature a special packaging. The graphics will have both covers for the releases and will be from the time the group was under the Tokuma Japan Communications umbrella.

As a big fan of Perfume, and as someone who’s recently started to take a liking to vinyl records, I am excited about this announcement! Vinyls have steadily risen as a popular, old-school method for groups to release music in high quality and thankfully a few J-pop groups have taken note.

Preorders appear to be open so make sure to check the link for info on how to do that, but we should see them being released on February 17!

A preview for Perfume’s upcoming single titled STAR TRAIN has been released.

The preview was featured in a trailer for their upcoming documentary.

From what I can tell the song has a bit of a laid back sound to it which is quite catchy. Of course, we only get 15 seconds of the song but it certainly does match the star theme that the title has. Many fans are mentioning that it does have vocals separated so solos are a bit clearer.

It will be fun to see just how this single shapes up, and of course how the PV looks. For now the song seems to be quite solid!

The release date is set for October 28.
