Fujita Nana “Migi Ashi Evidence” MV Released

Fujita Nana Migi Ashi Evidence

AKB48’s Fujita Nana has released the MV for her solo song titled Migi Ashi Evidence.

The solo singles keep on coming, and due to her winning the 6th Janken tournament on September 16 it seems like she has a well-deserved spot to have the spotlight on her.

Moving on to the MV itself, it seems like Nana got lucky. With a more mature styled song featuring a catchy beat and a series of shots of her dancing in various places around town, such as a giant room full of shiny stuff, and the middle of a busy square.

The song itself is catchy, fast, and has a nice adult overtone that is sure to have fans of more modern songs smiling.

Release is set for December 23, so it’s the perfect treat for any fan on Christmas!

AKB48’s Iwasa Misaki “Gomenne Tokyo” MV Released

Iwasa Misaki AKB48

AKB48’s Iwasa Misaki has released the MV for her single titled Gomenne Tokyo.

Enka is a hard genre to promote on mainstream music, mainly due to the more cultural tone that it has featuring a slow beat combined with passionate vocals full of the culture of Japan.

Thankfully Iwasa is here to try and promote it to more people and the result is a stunning MV.

The music might not be a fit for some due to the slow nature, but the scenes of her singing from the beach are just a reflection of how much skill is needed.

Release is set for January 6, so if you’re looking to kick off your year with a nice slow enka release, then make sure to check this release out!

AKB48 Is Officially The Best Selling Singles Group In Japanese History

AKB48

As of December 9, the release of Kuchibiru ni Be My Baby, AKB48 is now the best selling singles group in Japanese History.

Total sales for singles stands at around 36,158,000 (which is probably increasing even more as we speak). The honor was long held by others, here’s a short list of those top groups:

  • B’z – 35,809,000
  • Mr.Children – 26,628,000
  • Southern All Stars – 25,352,000
  • SMAP – 23,955,000

The most surprising fact is that AKB48 hasn’t been around as long as B’z has, with the group barely going to pass their 10th anniversary next year, but already having 42 singles under their belts (compared to B’z and their 52 singles in 27 years).

Of course, this record is only for singles and not overall sales since B’z still hold that record with 80,000,000 singles/albums sold.

Selling millions is something not many groups can brag about, mainly due to the high turbulence of music acts as groups join and break up as fast as people blink. Thankfully it seems like the group has maintained their status as one of the top idol groups in all of Japan and left their mark in Japanese music history.

It’s clear that they still have a ways to go, but at the pace they’re going it’s just a matter of time before we get to see them shatter that record.

Congrats AKB48!

AKB48’s 43rd Single Announced, To Feature Former Members

AKB48

AKB48’s 43rd single, currently untitled, has been announced.

According to the info released during their Kohaku Uta Gassen 2015 event, it seems like former members Itano Tomomi, Maeda Atsuko, Oshima, Yuko, Shinoda Mariko, and Takahashi Minami will be participating in the single as well.

This single will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of the group so having some of the members who shaped up the group for this monumental release is nothing short of a dream come true.

Of course, no other info is known but it seems like we are in for an amazing release since this means that we haven’t seen the last of some of these historic members that shaped up AKB48 into what it is today.

Release is set for March 9, so it’s currently a few months away, but the hype is real for this new single!

Yokoyama Yui Named AKB48’s General Director

Yokoyama Yui Takahashi Minami

Yokoyama Yui has been named AKB48’s new general director, replacing Takahashi Minami due to her graduation from the group.

Complete with an actual contract that was signed by both of the members, it seems like it’s official now:

Yokoyama Yui General Director

It’s a nice ceremony that passes on the responsibilities and Yui seems quite capable of taking care of the group as General Director, especially as she declared that the only rival AKB48 had is AKB48 itself.

Congratulations Yokoyama Yui!

AKB48’s Nagao Mariya To Graduate From Group

Nagao Mariya AKB48

AKB48’s Nagao Mariya has announced her graduation from the group.

The announcement was done during their performance at AKB48 Theater, so it was quite sudden for the many fans in attendance.

Graduations are always shocking and this one is no exception. Of course, members change quite rapidly since it is a rather large group but nonetheless she will be missed.

Thankfully, it seems like she wants to be an active member in entertainment so this might not be the last we see of her.

No graduation date has been announced, but we should be finding out in the coming months.

AKB48 “Kuchibiru ni Be My Baby” MV Previews Released

AKB48 Kuchibiru ni Be my Baby

The short MVs for the rest of AKB48’s Kuchibiru ni Be My Baby have been released.

Hold on to your bandwidth folks, this post is packed with MVs.

Obviously commenting on each would take quite a lot of time, but basically they can be summed up in a sentence each.

Kimi wo Kimi wo Kimi wo has a cute idol sound to it and it’s not surprising since this song features some of the newer members, but it’s a perfect song for the group. Yasashii Place has a slower and more ballad taste to it with a mature overtone. The dark theme is a nice contrast so it’s one of those videos for the fans of the adult side of the group.

Madonna no Sentaku has a nice beat combined with more laid back vocals alongside a line of commercial inspired shots of each of the members. Onee-san no Hitorigoto is one of those unique Japanese videos since it has a bright happy feel to it combined with weird but nice visuals while the members perform.

Kin no Kane wo Motsu Hito yo has a harder beat combined with vocals from guys in between the girls singing. With a set inspired straight out of a Rammstein video, we get to enjoy some fast paced music to some slow and dreary factory shots (factory idols?). Nanka, Chotto, Kyuu ni .. is a fantasy themed song with a calm feel to it if you’re a fan of mannequins then you’ll feel right at home.

Finally, Senaka Kotoba is the main track fans will be looking for, mainly due to it being Takahashi Minami’s graduation song and it’s perfect. The beat is slow, and we see shots of her from the past as well as several shots of her as she pulls ropes with the words that represent her history in the group.

This is the highlight of the single, and rightfully so. The shots of Minami as she grows with the group with shots of walking alongside her team is a nice touch. It’s hard to not feel nostalgic, especially if you’ve followed the group since it started.

Check out all of the songs after the break and get those pre-orders in since the single will be released on December 9!

AKB48 “365 Nicho no Kamihikouki” MV Released

AKB48 Nicho no Kamihikouki

The MV for AKB48’s 365 Nichi no Kamihikouki has been released.

This song is the coupling for Kuchibiru ni Be My Baby, so naturally I was expecting a ballad of some sort to complement the more energetic a-side.

Surprisingly, the song is focused on Sayaka and it’s a nice choice since the song is perfectly suited to her. The beat is slow and passionate so it is just what I imagined and I’m not disappointed since it provides a solid complement for the single.

December 9 is the release of this monumental single, and hopefully this song helps push many to get a copy since it is shaping up to be a solid single so far!

AKB48 “Amanojaku Batter” MV Released

AKB48 Amanojaku

The MV for AKB48’s Team 8 Amanojaku Batter MV released.

The song itself is quite active, with a rapid and catchy beat alongside some interesting choreography featuring synchronized dance by the members alongside a trippy theme where the members are repeated over and over again to make a dancing idol crowd appear.

Of course, this is every fan’s dream but while it might be short it is sweet so it’s highly recommended to check it out.

Release is set for December 9, so get that copy of the single reserved!
