UP-FRONT PROMOTION Minoru Ohhama

As a big Momusu fan it’s strange to see a 9ki member graduate all of a sudden. Seeing her join the group and being proclaimed as the ace with her amazing dancing skills and vocal abilities it seems like she was destined to shape the group into an amazing force to be reckoned with and across the years it seems like she did just that.

Sadly, fans have pointed out that she seems bored at times, and I do have to agree. Maybe the group isn’t challenging her skills enough? Maybe the idea of being restricted to only a few lines in a song while dancing with others might be a bit too much? Regardless, she will remain with H!P so that’s a relief since we will be able to enjoy her performances in the umbrella of groups.

What she will be doing from now on is certainly a mystery but I look forward to finding out as the time comes near.

Her graduation is set for December 31 (the 5th anniversary of being announced as part of Morning Musume), so fans make sure to attend her final performance to support her as she moves on to her solo activities!

Good luck Riho, thank you for the many years of amazing performances!

Little Glee Monster To Open For Ariana Grande This December

Little Glee Monster

Little Glee Monster have been selected to open up for Ariana Grande’s upcoming series of concerts in Japan this December.

My Ariana Grande knowledge is close to nothing so there isn’t much to comment on her from my side, but I’m ecstatic to see that Little Glee Monster will get a chance to get some additional promo by being the opening act for the concert.

The dates for the performances are set for December 8 and 9 at Saitama Super Arena so fans of the group and of Ariana are encouraged to attend!

MARIA “Me Gumi no Hito” And “Getchu” MVs Released

MARIA

Two MVs for MARIA’s latest single titled Me Gumi no Hito and the coupling song Getchu have been released.

Me Gumi no Hito features the group’s unique style of rock that sets them apart, and while it might be a sound for everyone I am loving how it looks and sounds since not many idols go the route of old-timey rock with sunglasses and backpacks. Highly recommended if you’re bored of the typical idol groups!

In MARIA’s Getchu we get to enjoy them without their sunglasses for a more upbeat sound with them dancing on a red platform in front of a dark backdrop. Compared to the previous video it’s not exactly the most visually entertaining with only a dance shot, but it’s quite fitting for the song.

It’s been out for a while, specifically October 21, so those who love the MVs won’t have to wait!

Stereo Tokyo “PARTY PEOPLE” MV Released

Stereo Tokyo

The MV for Stereo Tokyo’s PARTY PEOPLE has been released.

These EDM idols have a unique style to them that make them stand out from the other idols, with a catchy electronic sound that is sure to make you move your head along to the beat. It reminds me of Perfume, but of course with more members and a more EDM style.

The setting of the video is a crazy party with people waving lightsticks, carrying cakes, and dancing along to the music as a story unfolds. Things get hectic when the senior citizens hit the scene, bringing with them enough foam cannons to cover everyone in attendance. As weird as that might sound, it makes the video much more unique and complements the visuals well.

The single was released on October 28, so it’s brand new on store shelves for you to enjoy!

NEXT YOU “Next is You!” Single Announced

NEXT YOU Juice Juice

Juice=Juice’s fictional idol alter ego NEXT YOU will be releasing their 1st single titled Next is you!

As we mentioned before, Juice=Juice will be playing a fictional idol band called NEXT YOU and they would be releasing singles under that name while the drama Budoukan played out and it seems like we’re already getting a new single announcement ahead of the drama’s airing.

The title itself isn’t the most creative, but I’m liking how they went for simplicity over a complex and long title. A nice detail is that it will be produced by Tsunku. Those who remember the drama mention might remember that the group in the drama are produced by the legendary producer so it’s nice that he will have a part in this release as well.

Of course, the release was mentioned at a conference so there are not that many details so far, but we should hopefully have a date for release sometime soon.

miwa “Anata ga Koko ni Ite Dakishimeru Koto ga Dekiru Nara” Covers Released

The covers for miwa’s Anata ga Koko ni Ite Dakishimeru Koto ga Dekiru Nara have been released.

With an amazing look and voice, it’s no surprise to see her get equally impressive covers for her latest release, and I have to admit that these are quite eye catching. Of course, we get two versions: regular having her in a fetal position as well as a Limited version.

I’m quite the fan of the Limited version since we get to see her looking at the camera, but I’m loving the leaves and flower petals flowing around her with the light background colors in the background.

There is mention that an MV is out for the song, but I couldn’t find it so if you do please comment below so we can share it with everyone.

November 11 is the day of release, so make sure to get a copy and check out the drama Kounodori where the song is being used as a theme song!

sora tob sakana “Yozora wo Zenbu” MV Released

sora tob sakana

The MV for sora tob sakana’s Yozora wo Zenbu has been released.

sora tob sakana have an interesting style that sets them apart from other groups since they tend to lean towards a more electronic sound mixed in with some rock. Sure, it might sound a bit messy at times since the instrumental is a bit too powerful, but it seems like a group to keep an eye.

The single was released on October 27, so you can get a copy out now!

Arai Manami PB Titled “Seventeen’s Eyes”

Arai Manami

Arai Manami’s PB, previously titled LOVELY EYES, will be titled Seventeen’s Blue.

It seems like quite an interesting choice to change the title, but for me it definitely makes for a catchier title, since it seems to show off her age a bit more while not being a bit generic. Of course, the content will be the same so that will be a treat.

We’ll be enjoying this amazing PB pretty soon, in fact in a few weeks on November 16.

Details For Takahashi Minami’s Last Single With AKB48 Released

Takahashi Minami

Details for AKB48’s 42nd single, currently untitled, have been released.

The details were released during the handshake event on October 25.

As expected, Takahashi Minami will be the center for the single, here is a comment from her translated by Tokyo Girl Update:

I have been assigned center position for my final AKB48 single.
The last time I stood center by myself was Sakura no Hanabiratachi, released when we were still on an independent label.
The single will be a definitive idol song in AKB48 style.
I am really happy that my final single here is an idol song.
Since it is not a song where I leave graduation messages for everyone, I sincerely hope it will be performed by many members and loved by all the fans even after I graduate.

It’s certainly nice to see more details about this release so we can begin to get ready for it. Unfortunately, it was only a handful. That means that our tracklist consists of nothing but TBD titles alongside one B-side title.

We will hopefully find out more in the coming month with some previews to look forward to.The single will be released on December 9, the day after AKB48 will be celebrating their 10th year anniversary. More details, such as the tracklist, are available after the break!
