In this week’s Shuukan Idol, we get a surprise return from an idol as well as a handful of MVs from Dempagumi.inc, Iketeru Hearts, Q’ulle, EMPiRE, and UP UP GIRLS (2). Add in 2 graduations and a new group of trainees from WACK and you have our 7 highlights of the week!
> Dempagumi.inc perform on stage for their Precious Summer! live MV
Need some energy in your day? You’re in luck because Dempagumi.inc released a live MV for their latest single recently and it’s a treat. Packed full of flashing colors, fast paced moves, and energetic vocals, it’s a must see for everyone!
> Iketeru Hearts defeat idol bullies in the MV for HEARTS OF JOURNEY
What do you get when you get some money stolen from you and you’re an idol? You get defended by a group of super hero idols who fight with the power of music, of course. It’s a colorful release and one that’s sure to please fans of Iketeru Hearts!
> Yukueshirezu Tsurezure’s Anata Tsuyame announces withdrawal
Remember how Cococo left Yukueshirezu Tsurezure and was replaced with Meiyuimei bringing their total back to 4 members? Well, that’s about to change. In a surprising move, it seems like Anata Tsuyame will be leaving the group. Check out her reason why and when her final performance is above!
> EMPiRE get artistic for their EMPiRE ORiGINALS MV
EMPiRE are stepping up their game with the release of their latest MV. How? By going incredibly artistic and sparing no expense. From the orchestra packed track to the many scenes of them acting out a story thanks to AiNA’s choreography, it’s simply impressive. Just, check it out, it’s so good.
> Iikubo Haruna announces her graduation from Morning Musume ’18 and Hello! Project
Iikubo Haruna is one of Morning Musume’s most interesting members. Her personality and her fashion sense are unrivaled. Unfortunately, it seems like she has decided to part ways with the group. Full details are available above. We’ll miss you Haruna!
> Check out the WACK WAgg members
WACK has been slowly growing into an empire of alternative idols, and their latest move is interesting. We now have a group of trainees, introduced a la BiSH with black contacts and white lighting photos. Yes, they’re not a group and won’t have any new songs (for now), but it’s interesting to see that WACK is prepping up the next generation of not idols.
> Kamen Joshi’s Igari Tomoka will resume activities in August
Igari Tomoka was involved in a tragic accident that left her paralyzed from the legs a while back. While her chance of recovery is low, she has been going to therapy often since that incident. In a bright turn of events, we just got news that she will be making a comeback to stage to perform.
If this isn’t inspiring then I don’t know what is. Don’t let anything stand in your way of your goals and dreams.
Notable mentions
- Q’ulle rock out underground in the MV for EMOTION
- BiSH’s AiNA THE END and Cent Chihiro Chicchi announce solo debut single
- UP UP GIRLS (2) get abducted by a UFO in Zenbu Seishun!
Encore
This week we have SPARK SPEAKER and their live MV for Tell Me. Part of their 1st album titled KYO-MEI, the album is available now.
SPARK SPEAKER are a group that I’ve heard about but haven’t really kept up with. Well that’s about to change after having listened to their latest video.
In it we get to see SPARK SPEAKER as they perform their track titled Tell Me. It’s packed to the brim with energy, showing off the members singing their lines with confidence as the instrumental blares in the background. Yes, it’s only a live MV, but it’s well worth a look if you haven’t checked them out!
