Shuukan Idol – Winter Snow Edition

BiSH Ling Ling Snow
Brand-new Snowman Society

In this week’s Shuukan Idol we get a large amount of MVs from groups such as BAND-MAID, PASSPO☆, Niji no Conquistador, and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu.

Coupled with some member departures, additions, and breaks, it’s fair to say that this was an incredibly active week. Check out our 6 highlights after the break!

Zenbu Kimi no Sei Da announce new member

Zenbu Kimi no Sei Da have had a rough past few months, but with a surprise announcement it seems like the lineup is back to 5 members. Welcome to the group Mikuchiyo Mene!

Niji no Conquistador are back to conquer our stomachs with Retort ~Kareinaru Ai~

After conquering our hearts with a soft ramen ballad, Niji no Conquistador are back with an equally catchy song about curry. It’s packed with wonderful randomness and is well worth a look for those who enjoy upbeat releases.

BAND-MAID crash a party in the MV for Don’t you tell ME

Taking place in a mansion, we get to see the members of BAND-MAID as they take over and crash the party of some millionaires who are surprisingly easy to push over. Packed with french maid outfits and shredding guitar solos, it’s a must see for fans of the group.

Hoi! Kyary Pamyu Pamyu reveals her latest single Harajuku Iyahoi

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is the queen of colorful randomness, and she is back to release a catchy new release featuring a multitude of walking fingers, shoe things, and so much more. It’s fairly relaxed but well recommended!

PASSPO☆ become zombie pop stars in the MV for PlayGround

Zombies are everywhere right now (literally everywhere) but there seems to be a strong absence of idol zombies. In an effort to correct this injustice, PASSPO☆ have released an interesting and catchy song from their latest album that shows off  what would happen if Mio Masui was stuck in a plane with her zombified members.

ANGERME’s Aikawa Maho to take break from group due to panic disorder

Panic attacks are not the greatest feeling in the world, and unfortunately it seems like Aikawa Maho has been experiencing symptoms of panic disorder. Full details are in the post above, but we hope to see her make a return to the group once she feels ready.

Notable Mentions:

It’s finally here! I’ve had a chance to brainstorm for some time and came up with a short list of potential site names.

By no means are these the only site names that will be considered since I plan on continuing the never ending creative struggle to come up with a site name that is memorable and encompasses our passion for sharing idol and J-pop news with everyone around the world.

This is also a stark reminder that if I have a kid I will probably be thinking of what to name them until they are adults.

Despite that, this will be the biggest hurdle to get through but once that is taken care of I plan on fully diving in and improving the site as much as possible (new theme, more visuals and colors, more information, more banners, etc).

The final decision will most likely take place after the voting is concluded and I’ve had a chance to take everyone’s opinion into consideration.

Again, I’ve always believed this site to be for fans by fans, so if you have any suggestions I’d be more than happy to hear them. Please vote and let us know what you think!

petit milady are a group that we haven’t covered that much on the site, but thankfully it seems like fans of this idol group will get a chance to enjoy their music videos in one place with their latest release.

Titled MUSIC CLIP COLLECTION, it features 11 of their MVs ranging from their song 100% Cider Girl (released in 2013), to yet another version of 100% Cider Girl (still released in 2013, but updated). All kidding aside, they do have some catchy upbeat releases that are worth checking out.

Here’s a short preview of one of the MVs that will be included:

That’s it for this week, we’ll see you in the next one!
