SKE48 “Chicken LINE” MV Released

SKE48 Chicken LINE MV

SKE48 have released an MV preview for the main song from the single Chicken LINE.

Releasing March 30th, we have already seen the other MV previews for the other tracks from the singles released a while ago.

What kind of beat comes to mind when you see a dark dystopia full of idols and action?

Exactly, Flamenco-inspired music with trumpets and a catchy beat.

Full of catchy beats with a Latin touch, it makes for an amazing song that is so catchy when combined with the talented voices of SKE48. The voices are a nice match since they have a calm sound that seems to melt into the beat.

Unfortunately, the MV itself doesn’t seem to match much with the song, instead going for a look that would feel right at home at a Batman movie or even a dark industrial anime (the intro suggests that before going full trumpet).

Despite the visual throw off, I am loving the song since it has a nice beat that is sure to have you nodding your head to the beat.

Well worth a look, so make sure to check it out after the break!

SKE48 “Chicken LINE” MV Previews Released

SKE48 Kanojo ga Iru MV

SKE48 have released previews for their 19th single titled Chicken LINE.

There were three MV previews released today for this single that will be releasing March 30th. As for the single itself, there will 4 Regular versions, 4 Limited editions, PriPara version, and a mu-mo exclusive theater version.

The previews for the songs are all for for the different edition exclusives, but the main tracklist will feature the b-side titled Houenkyou no Nai Tenmondai. Type D will feature a separate track in honor of Miyazawa Sae’s graduation titled Tabi no Tochuu.

On to the previews!

The 1st preview featuring Team S and Type-A exclusive is titled Kanojo ga Iru and in it we see the girls at an amusement park where they dance in front of the rides with a nice filter on the shot to give it a sunset look.

It could be a commercial for an amusement park, but instead we get to see the members having fun and enjoying the day while singing a somewhat “too” calm song. It does have its ups but overall I wasn’t that impressed with this one.

Up next, we have Team KII and their Type-B exclusive song Kiss Position and here we see more of a traditional idol sound with the members smiling and dancing at the camera while doing classic cute poses.

The tone of the song is upbeat, catchy, and well suiting of the members and it goes well with the cafe setting that we get to see. Of course we don’t get to see much since it’s short but there is a small story in the MV with Obata Yuna and Ego Yuna as famous celebrities being recognized at a cafe (after they stare at a waiter).

Great song, and even better MV since it has a cute theme with a colorful dance shot as well as a simple, but fun story included.

Finally, we have Team E and their Type C song Is that your secret? and this one is the interesting one out of the bunch. Instead of a happy go lucky setting we see the members chase down a paparazzi after he takes pictures of the members.

The song itself is calm tone to it and it matches the motif of the video nicely since it has a somewhat unsettling tone. Sure, the song might not be good but I’ll definitely check out the MV since it has a unique theme with a Fight Club style ring of idols.

Solid releases from SKE48 today, so check out the MVs after the break and let us know which one you prefer the most!

JKT48’s Haruka Nakagawa To Graduate

JKT48 Haruka Nakagawa

Haruka Nakagawa has announced that she will be graduating from JKT48 as well as the AKB48 company.

Announced at an event in Jakarta, she announced that she will not be coming back to Japan and will instead remain in Indonesia. She will remain with the group until the end of the year.

It’s surprising to hear that a member which is well loved by fans has announced that she will be leaving and while no specific reason was given it seems like she does have some plans with her remaining in Indonesia.

For now, she has mentioned that she would like the group to perform at the Gelora Bung Karno, so it seems like she has a great goal in mind to achieve before she leaves.

Best of luck Haruka!

HKT48’s Okada Kanna To Graduate

HKT48 Okada Kanna

HKT48’s Okada Kanna has announced that she will be graduating from the group.

Announced at a recent performance, she mentioned that her reason for leaving is based on her wanting to study medicine. She will be leaving the group with her final concert being on March 22.

Studying is a big reason why many idols leave the scene, but it seems like Kanna has big plans for herself. While she might not be performing alongside the group it is a noble goal to pursue medicine, since it is well known for being amongst the hardest subjects to study.

Best of luck Kanna!

NGT48 “Max Toki 315 Gou” MV Released

NGT48 Max Toki 315 Gou MV

The MV for NGT48’s Max Toki 315 Gou has been released.

Forming part of the Type D version of AKB48’s Kimi wa Melody, this single is somewhat of a relief for those who love the Winter season.

While we don’t advocate running in icy roads in seifukus, we do love the fact that the mix of electronic with folk instruments results in an amazing backdrop for the song.

It seems like the song is their debut and it seems like a solid one, with a soft Winter beat to accompany the members as they show off the beauty of the town.

They might be known for their McDonalds tie in (Nugget48), but this song is solid evidence that they are a nice entry in the 48 family.

Well worth a look for the Winter lovers!

Nogizaka AKB “Mazariau Mono” MV Released

Nogizaka AKB Mazariau Mono MV

The MV for Nogizaka AKB’s Mazariau Mono has been released.

This song is part of the Type E versions of AKB48’s Kimi wa Melody releasing March 9th.

Currently this video is among the highest viewed out of the group that were released today and for good reason since it has a soft electronic sound coupled with some interesting choices in dance.

While the rest of the MVs featured an upbeat or catchy dance we instead get to see the members sticking their fingers in between each others lips as well as in their ears and making a hole in snow.

Despite the surreal type of dance, the song itself is solid with a nice beat that is relaxing. Coupled with the beat the ballad vocals are a nice partner for the EDM and it results in a perfect song for the single.

Ignoring the OK GO-esque dance, this is a solid song and well worth checking out if you’d love to hear a comforting electronic ballad.

AKB48 “LALALA Message” MV Released

AKB48 Lalala Message

The MV for AKB48’s LALALA Message has been released.

This song is part of their upcoming single titled Kimi wa Melody out March 9th, and while we might have had a somewhat traditional AKB48 song with the main track it’s nice to see that they went for a softer ballad for this one.

In a way it’s similar to NMB48’s Shigamitsuita Seishun but in a more mature tone, as evidenced by them breaking into the school to have a fun time.

I’m not exactly sure why they set up a radio station at the top of the school (spying on other idols?), but the scene of the members holding hands and singing together was a cute addition.

It might seem like an iPhone commercial, but it’s well worth a watch for some sweet idol music!

NMB48 Nishimura Aika

NMB48‘s Nishimura Aika has announced her graduation.

This was done at a recent live that the group held, with Aika commenting that she wanted to study English this upcoming semester in college. She also mentioned her desire to work as an actress.

As is “48 tradition, we don’t get a graduation date just yet but it seems like she has big plans for herself.

Her desire to study English coupled with her dreams of becoming an actress will lead to great opportunities down the line, and thankfully she will have her fans support as she makes it there.

Best of luck Nishimura Aika!
